The garden is getting close to its peak right now with basket fulls of green beans, tomatoes, cucumber, onions, peppers, basil, carrots and other goodies each day. I think we have officially hit zucchini overload at this point!

Stella has been waiting patiently for one particular day this summer, pickling day. I promised her that this would be the year she could learn how to make pickles.  For the past month or so she has been asking for all my “pickle tips and tricks” and has wanted a step by step recounting of how to make pickles nearly everyday.  Last week she finally got to put all her education to work.

Chopping oh so many cloves of garlic… and onions and cucumbers!

Fresh from the garden dill, cucumbers, onions, garlic, and green beans.

With brine added!

This is our favorite refrigerator pickle recipe. Hope you enjoy it as much as we do!
